sure bi/pan discourse is stupid but I sure have seen a major improvement in how ppl define pansexuality in relation to to bisexuality when compared to the early days of pansexuality as a result of said discourse. Like it seems most people have reached a “let ppl identify how they want” consensus, while also no longer being weirdly transphobic and biphobic every time someone asks the difference between bi/pan/poly/omni/etc.

#like… im still gonna be a bitch about it a bit bc what it took for ppl to finally stop being biphobic was for them to admit there isnt #actually some significant special difference between bi and pan. which they didnt want to do bc the label in the first place was ppl trying #to ‘improve’ how we define multigendered attraction or virtue signal their openness to nb people #but at least thank god I now see ppl saying its just a matter of preferences or that bi means 2+ pan means all or whatever #instead of BBBISEXUALS R BINARY BI MEAN 2 THEY LIKE MAN WOMAN pan like Aaaall 🥰#like the lgbt community has always loved lots of labels and terms and they always come and go out of fashion and thats totally okay #but for a while the pan community was insufferable like the influx of I just learned there can be more than 2 genders ppl suddenly taking #the bi prefix way too literally and disregarding the history and lived experiences of bi ppl
